Emily Stecher
Director of Youth and Family Ministries
Emily began worshipping at LGPC and plugging into the Lake Grove Kids (LGK) ministry with her daughter Ali in 2022 and joined the congregation in 2024. Before settling in the Portland area, Emily grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and spent many years in Durham, North Carolina obtaining her B.A. in Religion from Duke University and her Master of Divinity with a Concentration in Christian Education from Duke Divinity School. She has spent more than a decade in the Pacific Northwest serving churches in Seattle and Portland, primarily working with children, youth, and families. Most recently, she served as the Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland before taking time to be home with her daughter. Emily enjoys rock climbing and hiking, listening to audiobooks while puzzling, cuddling with the family's miniature dachshund, and volunteering at her daughter's school.
