The purpose of Adult Christian Education at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church is to offer a year-round program for discipleship that enables people to grow in their commitment to Christ, Christ's church and Christ's work in the world.
adult Learning
. . . to equip the saints for the work of ministry,
for building up the body of Christ,
until all of us come to the unity of faith and of the knowledge
of the Son of God, to maturity,
to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
Learning Christ
Christians never stop growing or moving toward healthy maturity. Here at LGPC there are a number of opportunities for spiritual growth. There are small and large group Bible studies, meeting at various times during the week. There is something for everyone who wants to have a vital and growing faith. Throughout the year, including summer, you can find opportunities to explore faith issues and deepen your under-standing of the WORD, both written (Bible) and living (Jesus). Look over this list and make a decision today to take part in a group that will nurture you.
Sunday Mornings
Beginning Sunday, January 10
Discovering the Heart of Romans
January 10 - March 28
9:30 AM - Courtyard Room
Led by The Rev. Mark Frey
You have breezed through Paul's letter to the Romans and now it is time to dig deeper. Some characterize this book as Paul's most significant and in the chapters 5-8 we encounter the heart of the apostle's message, faith and theology. We will take an in-depth look at the Biblical texts that provided the foundation for the Protestant Reformation and Christian renewals throughout history. Come prepared to dig in and discover that the heart of the great apostle's faith is still very good news today!

Dealing with Disturbing Divine Deeds
in the Old Testament
"Destroy the town completely, both its people and its livestock." - Deut. 13:15
January 10 - March 28
11:00 AM - Courtyard Room
Led by Pastor Graig Flach
In this course we will examine some of the troubling Old Testament texts we had to rush through in our BIND reading. Finally get your questions addressed, and maybe even answered! Every week we will dig into a couple of the controversial passages. Out of this study will emerge a more balance view of God as He is portrayed in the OT, as well as a deeper respect for the Hebrew Scriptures - the "Old"-but-essential Testament.
