The Church Alive

August 22 , 2010

Welcome to Lake Grove Presbyterian Church!  Please let us know you are here by filling out the “friendship pad,” and be sure to include your mailing and e-mail addresses.

Visitors, please stop by our Welcome Center for our Welcome Packet, an introduction to the heart and ministry of LGPC.  Have a question?  Ask someone wearing a blue lanyard and “Greeter” nametag; we will be happy to help you!  Please join us for coffee and fellowship after worship, in Fellowship Hall.

Come hear the youth mission report tonight at 5:00 pm in the Sanctuary.  Hear the amazing stores of how our youth served campers who are blind, deaf, or differently-abled at Camp Barnabas in Missouri.

Our New Saturday Evening Service: We are excited about this new venture, and hope you can all be a part of it. The official launch is Saturday, September 11th, at 5:00 pm.  Be sure to invite your friends!  If you would like to learn more about how to get involved, please contact Jared Jensen, jaredj@lakegrovepres.org.

Of Special Interest

Our flowers today are in memory of Jan Gorrill.

We need your e-mail address!  The VIEW is now being sent primarily by e-mail; mailed copies will still be sent to those who request a paper copy.  Paper copies will also be available to pick up at church.  If you wish to have a paper copy mailed to you, please call the church office.

Are you missing a jacket, scarf, hat, coffee cup, water bottle, lunch sack, shoe bag, or other miscellaneous items?  Please check the church’s Lost & Found cabinet and the coat rack next to the water fountain.  Articles unclaimed by the end of August will be donated.

Fellowship Hall will be closed to all activity from
1:00 pm next Sunday, August 22nd, through noon on Saturday, September 4th, due to floor refinishing.  The 8:00 service on Sunday, August 29th, will be held in the Sanctuary.  Coffee only will be served in the Gathering Area on August 29th.

Kitchen Training: If you would like to be trained on how to use the church kitchen for events, Kathy Larimer will be available to do kitchen training on Sunday morning, August 29th.  If interested, please contact Kathy at 503-656-9606.
