Fellowship and Refreshments - Due to the Sanctuary Enhancement Project, fellowship time after the 8:00 and 9:30 services will be in the Breezeway today.  Fellowship time after the 11:00 service will be in Fellowship Hall.  Please join us. 

Children’s Ministry Volunteers – Don’t forget to come picnic with us today!  12:00 in Hub room.  Please be our guest and let us say thank you for your wonderful partnership in ministry.

Senegal Benefit:  The benefit concert raised $19,696 for Senegal relief.  A big THANKS to the choir for their gift and to all who made financial gifts to this important ministry.

Sanctuary Enhancement Project:  The project is underway.  Watch for periodic reports about our progress, which will be sent to you by email.  Copies will also be available in the Gathering Area.  And you can see for yourself by taking a look through the window in the Narthex.

Pew Envelopes and Prayer Cards are available in the friendship pads and at the usher’s station.


Of Special Interest

A Congregational Meeting will be held June 1, 2008, immediately following the 11:00 worship service, for the purpose of electing church officers.

Cyclone Relief: If you would like to make a financial contribution to the relief efforts for Myanmar, please make your check payable to LGPC, marked for "Cyclone Relief."  We will forward it to World Vision who has staff in Myanmar and is marshalling resources for the relief effort.  Please keep the victims of this devastation in your prayers.

Church Meeting Room Reservations:  All recurring meeting room reservations end on June 30.  Please submit new pink reservation forms ASAP for your group’s regular weekly or monthly meetings for the next year.

Directory photos:  If you are only receiving the free 8x10, the photographs will be available for you to pick up in the Fellowship Hall at the appointment table.  If you purchased photographs, they will be mailed to you.

SEP Pledge Report:  Over 250 families committed nearly $850,000 to the project.  Please prayerfully consider your participation.  Our hope is that everyone will participate in this important project.

                           


Children’s Ministry

All students are in class at 9:30 this morning.  At 11:00, the 1st through 3rd graders will join their families in worship.

Register for Discovery Bible Camp (June 16-20) today!  Registration forms are at the Children’s Ministry Counter.  $15 per child/$25 per family.

Mission & Ministry

Manna Ministries needs drivers on Monday and/or Friday mornings to pick up food from a local market and/or to deliver food to a few locations in Tigard and Tualatin.  Please sign up in the Gathering Area or call Wayne Waldal at 503-590-2336.  Thank you.

Book Collection for Woodburn Children's Summer Reading Program:  May 4 – June 8, the Children's Stewardship Committee will be collecting new and gently-used elementary-age reading books for the children at Cipriano Ferrel Education Center.  Collection baskets will be located near the church library and nursery. Youth Ministry

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Fish School meets this morning, 9:30 am in the Youth Room.

Join us Wednesday evening at Fish Co., 6:30-8:45 pm for a rare opportunity to hear from Holocaust survivor, Alter Wiener.  Parents and friends of Fish Co. are invited to attend this special event.  Bring $3 for dinner.

Glamour Girlz meet Saturday, May 31, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Meet at the church and then we’ll head out for Glow-in-the-dark-underground-pirate-mini-Golf and a super service project.  Cost is $10.  To RSVP, contact kathleen@lakegrovepres.org.

HIGH SCHOOL

Higher Grounds meets at 9:30AM today for coffee and great discussion.  Join us upstairs in Room 204 as we study “The Afterlife.”

We celebrate our Confirmation students this morning at the 9:30 service.  The congregation is invited to a cake reception upstairs in the Youth Room following the worship service.

Entheos tonight welcomes special guest, Holocaust survivor, Alter Wiener.  Parents and friends of Entheos are invited to join us for the evening and hear his powerful personal story, 7:00-9:00 pm, in the Youth Room. 

Baccalaureate:  Our high school seniors are invited to attend the 2008 Baccalaureate service, Sunday, June 1, 9:30 am.  Immediately following the service is a reception in the Youth Room for seniors and their families.  Please RSVP right away to Lenore Caldwell:  lenore@lakegrovepres.org

Adult Christian Education

Sundays at 9:30 am - Ephesians, taught by Tom Swearingen, will meet in the Library May 18 – June 1.

Growing in the Grove has concluded.  It will start up again on September 24, 2008.

Fellowship

Family Camp Sign Ups Today! You can sign up for family camp by going to www.lgpcfamcamp.info or stopping at the Welcome Center today. Don’t miss the fun July 11-13 at beautiful Camp Magruder!

Sign up to be part of the Captain’s Table – a fun way to get to know folks here at LGPC. Groups of 8 will form and have dinner together once a month during June, July, August, and September, either in a restaurant or at each other’s homes. PrimeTime Adventures: 

June 12 luncheon (12:00 pm) at LGPC features Flamenco dancers as entertainment.  $7 per person.

Make reservations now for a 3-day trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, August 11-13.  Brochures are available at the Information Desk. 

The Prime Time committee is planning now for next year, and would love written in put from members ASAP. We will meet on June 9th to start hammering out the agenda for 2009.

Salvation Army West Women's Shelter:  Pray that God will supply the many needs of the women and children in the Salvation Army West Women's Shelter.
