Buy your tickets today for the BASH benefit auction, scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 5:00 pm. Tickets are $20 per person and will help fund the high school summer mission trip to Camp Barnabas, where our students will help people with special needs meet life with courage. Please consider donating an item for the auction. Donation Forms are available at the BASH ticket counter.
There will be an Usher Recognition Luncheon today, at 12:15 pm, in the Fellowship Hall. We would like to invite everyone interested in joining the Ushering roster to please join us
Calligraphy prints with spiritual themes will be sold in the Fellowship Hall today between services, to benefit the Cascade Pacific Council, Boy Scouts of America. All proceeds will be used to employ a chaplain at one of the Scout Council's six summer camps.
Join us for S.H.A.P.E., led by Brent James, Sunday mornings at 9:30 am, today through March 28, in the former Whole Life Church building across the street on Upper Drive. Come learn how to use your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences in ministry within the Church. There is a $12 fee for materials. Of Special InterestFinancial Supplement - The Financial Supplement to the 2009 Annual Report is available in the Gathering Area. Trustees will be available to answer questions about this report on Sunday, February 28, between 10:30 and 11:00 in Fellowship Hall.
An updated directory of church members and attendees is available in the Gathering Area. You are welcome to pick up a copy for your family. Members and attendees can also print an updated directory at any time via the “log in” button on the church web site’s front page.
Per Capita: Each year the Presbyterian Church assesses a per-member fee to pay for administrative costs of the denomination. This year’s assessment is $22.55 per member. If you are an LGPC member, please mark your check per capita and turn it in to the church office ASAP. .
The Cascades Presbytery Leadership Fair will be held this Saturday, February 27, 8:30 am-3:00 pm here at LGPC. Hear nationally known speakers and attend two of many appealing workshops. Visit the Presbytery website, www.cascadespresbytery.org, to view or download a brochure, or contact the church office.
Children’s MinistryToday, the One Great Hour of Sharing Fish are being sent home with the Sunday School students. Help your children fill their fish banks during Lent to support Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Hunger Program and the Self-Development of People.
Today, all students are in the Orchard in their classes. Next week, 2nd grade will participate in the worship service with their families at 9:30. No class at 9:30.
3rd graders and families. Bible Course Celebration! March 14th will be the special presentation of the Bibles in the 9:30 service with a celebration in the Hub Room afterward. Parents are invited.
Adult Christian Education
The Adult Sunday School continues today in the Courtyard Room.
At 9:30 am the topic is Discovering the Heart of Romans, led by the Rev. Mark Frey.
The 11:00 am topic is Dealing with Disturbing Divine Deeds in the Old Testament, led by Pastor Graig Flach.
“Growing in the Grove” (Wednesday evening Adult Education Class) meets at7:00 pm in the Hub Room. Pastor Bob and others lead us in sharing insights and tools to help us develop our own devotional time using personal Bible study and prayer with After BIND: How to Have a Meaningful Quiet Time.
New Library books to check out: We have 36 volumes of The Sugar Creek Gang for the young readers in your family. Parents – Remember your child may check out books or DVDs only if you sign a permission form for them.

Youth MinistryYouth Ministries needs twinkle lights for BASH decorations. Bring strings of lights marked with your name and phone to the Youth Room where you'll see a box marked "BASH lights." We'll return them to you after BASH.

WaterAfrica general membership meeting: Tuesday, February 23rd, 7:00 pm in the Courtyard Room. We’re finalizing plans for the April 17th Walk for Water. Come with ideas, energy, and a desire to help the poorest of the poor. For more info contact Diane or Bill Savage, 503-635-5228.
On February 25, at 7:00 pm, The International Justice Mission Director of the Cebu, Philippines project, one of the worst sex trafficking areas in the world, will be sharing with us. Senegal Send Team Members Wanted: Five LGPC members will travel to Africa February 26th to launch a new partnership in Senegal. We are asking those here to be in prayer for our travelers and to provide meals for their family members at home. We will pray for the travelers on Sunday February 28th from 9:00-9:30 am in Pastor Bob's office. Holy Land Tour Informational Meetings: Come and get your Holy Land Tour questions answered on Sundays, February 28 or March 7 at 12:15 pm, Wednesdays, March 10 or 17 at 7:00 pm, in the Courtyard Room.
Mission Display Case: You are invited to view the doll collection loaned to the church in honor of the recent Mission Fair. The dolls are from a larger collection that Helen Louise Parker acquired on a trip around the world at age 10. The display is in the hallway near the Hub Room.
2010 Mission Yearbooks are available on the Extending Ministries wall in the Gathering Area. This is great inspirational resource for daily devotion and prayer with “missions” in mind. $5 each; supply is limited.
These Days devotional guides are available on the Information Wall in the Gathering Area. Suggested donation is $1.25 per copy.
FellowshipThursday Morning Women's Group: Continue your Christian journey in the company of other women! Volunteers are needed to plan Lake Grove's Spring "Mothers and Others" Tea, scheduled for Saturday, May 8th. PrimeTime: Luncheon on Thursday, February 25th, features a talk about "The Bridges of Portland" - $7 per person. Join us for a day trip to Mercy Corps on Tuesday, March 6th, with a no-host lunch at Kells ($3 for transportation). The trip is limited to 20 people. Thursday, March 25th, is Movie Afternoon at LGPC. The film is "UP." Popcorn and root beer floats will be served. No cost. Please sign up so we know how much root beer and ice cream to provide.
