Children's Ministry

Contact Diane Parker, Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries (503-636-5656).

Teachers, helpers, musicians, childcare providers, and other volunteers are needed to guide and nurture the children of our church family in the Christian Faith.  We are blessed at this church with a large “flock” of children to enjoy and encourage on their faith journey.  In Children’s Ministry, men and women of all ages and stages, talents and gifts are a rich resource (and wonderful role models) for our children. Resources and support are abundantly provided. In response to Christ’s Great Commission, “Go and make disciples,” prayerfully consider where God is calling you to serve.

Vacation Bible School Helpers are needed for the week of June 20-24!  Infant and preschool childcare will be provided for volunteers.  Please stop by the Children's Ministry Information Desk on Sunday mornings!

  • Deacon Visitation Ministry - seeks Ordained Elders or Deacons
  • Please consider serving communion to our growing number of shut-ins on the afternoon of the 1st Sunday of the month. You can serve monthly or as available throughout the year. No skills are necessary other than
normal compassion. Training (very easy) will be provided.

  • Deacon Hospitality Ministry - seeks Meal Providers

Share your culinary skills with our congregation. The comfort of home cooked meals are needed for families with new babies and others who are recovering from illness or surgery. If you would like to be part of our
meal team, providing meals for various church families once or twice a month.

  • Deacon Community Outreach ministry - seeks food shoppers and/or delivery drivers.

This ministry provides food once a month to a specific set of needy people here in Clackamas county.  Time commitment is 1 Saturday per month (at most).

    • Deacon Visitation ministry - seeks friendly people
    • Compassionate people needed to visit homebound members. No experience necessary! Only requirement is to have a caring heart and ability to visit someone for 1 hour twice a month. No pay but huge benefits for all eternity!

    • Deacon Visitation ministry - seeks drivers
    • Many of our "senior saints" no longer drive but would love to continue attending our church services. We have requests for all services and from many parts of our geographic area. These same people could sometimes use a ride to the doctor or other important appointments. If you'd be willing to provide a ride to one of these people, please contact Shirlee Hansen.

    • Deacon Hospitality ministry - seeks callers

Great Opportunity to meet other church members via the telephone! Help is needed to call absentee members to check in with them and also let them know they have been missed. If you could spare ~an hour per week to help pare down the list, it would be greatly appreciated!

    • Deacon Grief Care ministry - seeks caller / scheduler

Did you know that Deacon's provide a reception after every memorial service? We are seeking a person to keep track of the volunteers and schedule them for each reception. Time required is 30-60 minutes on the
phone/email per reception. Because memorials are scheduled on short notice, the ideal candidate is someone who's usually in town!

    • Deacon Grief Care ministry - seeks cookie bakers

Deacons provide a reception after every memorial service, but where do the cookies come from? People like you! Join our list of bakers and contribute 3 to 4 dozen cookies as needed. Typically once a month or less.

    • Deacon Grief Care ministry - seeks reception workers

Those memorial receptions have to be staffed by someone! Volunteer to help setup up (tablecloths, flowers, cookies), serve coffee at, and/or clean-up (wash dishes). Your commitment can vary from 1-4 hours. This
work typically occurs between noon and 5 pm on weekdays.

    • Deacon Grief Care Ministry - seeks seminar leaders

Lead a discussion for one class or a series of classes on a topic relevant to those who have recently suffered loss of a loved one. Typically the 4th Sunday of the month 4-5 pm.
